INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- The Cincinnati Bengals capitalized on another fourth-down touchdown to reignite their chances in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, and in doing so, bolstered their playoff prospects.
Facing fourth-and-2, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow connected with wide receiver Tee Higgins on a 42-yard touchdown pass, narrowing the gap to 27-20 with 2:53 remaining in the third quarter.
Just one possession earlier, Cincinnati had also scored on fourth down, this time with a 4-yard pass to Ja'Marr Chase for their first points of the game.

Earlier, the Bengals struggled to find momentum, trailing by 18 points at halftime, which tied for the third-largest deficit during coach Zac Taylor's six-year tenure.
The rally was pivotal for their postseason hopes. Before the game, Bengals players acknowledged that a loss to the Chargers would virtually extinguish their playoff aspirations.
The team’s star duo delivered another electric primetime performance. Chase broke free for a 17-yard touchdown catch from Burrow in what has become a highly improbable game. After falling behind by 21 points early in the third quarter, Cincinnati has now scored three consecutive touchdowns. According to ESPN Research, a win would tie the largest comeback in Bengals franchise history.
